Dream Team : Steve Hone

I was first taken to speedway aged 6 weeks at Plough Lane, Wimbledon, in 1967. I went regularly home and away until 1985/86 when I started riding myself, then I just went to home meetings only. I rode 2nd halves and junior level with a few outings in the National League for Canterbury in '86 & '87 and Exeter '89, until a broken thigh halted my season in '90. After Wimbledon closed in '91 and I packed in racing, I just followed speedway in general, and now find myself as team photographer at Kings Lynn.

Ivan Mauger
I have to have Ivan at the top as I grew up with him staying at our house every time he was in London and got to see the way he was on and off the track. The ultimate professional and the catalyst for so many things that go on in the sport now. Superb captain and team man.

Kenny Carter
King Kenny. Someone else I got to know and like very much through Ivan and also when I worked for Phil Pratt Tuning. A very funny bloke, always joking, and never afraid to speak his mind. Extremely patriotic to the point of annoying those around him. Sadly missed.

Richard Green
I am very lucky to have witnessed Richard around Exeter on a weekly basis. The regular winner of most exciting rider, and anyone that saw him at the County Ground will know why. Never gave up and any rider that got in front of Richard knew they had a battle on their hands. Thoroughly nice bloke too!

Tommy Jansson
My earliest memories from when I really started paying attention to who the riders were involved Tommy J. Stylish, fast, and a world champ in the making. Another sadly missed.

Mike Spink
I was lucky enough to be involved at Canterbury with Mike ... another one of those great team men and nice blokes. Never really a top star but very much a good rider that just got on with his job.

Tomas Topinka
Bringing things a bit more up to date I would put Tomas in my team. Having observed him at Kings Lynn I have seen what he brings to the club, and I think many Kings Lynn fans would agree. A great captain and team man.

Chris Mills
Well, why not ... his enthusiasm, never say die attitude, his victory celebrations, his sense of humour ... they all combine to make Chris a worthy inclusion. Milk it Millsy!!!!
