Tell us about your introduction to speedway

First meeting - Wembley 1964, still got the programme somwhere.Then regularly went to West Ham which was a great track and sometimes Hackney, Wimbledon and Rayleigh. Sadly all now gone .

Tell us about your favourite meeting of all time

World Final 1972 - if I get dates wrong sorry, memory is slipping!

Tell us about your favourite rider of all time

Christer Lofqvist. Spectactular and brave, incredible control of the bike. Saw him ride up the solid wood safety fence at Swindon and back on the track.

Tell us about your favourite track/stadium

West Ham, I now go to Arena Essex (Lakeside Hammers), not quite the same, tendency for smaller tracks and bikes are ridden in a different way.

What are the best things about speedway?

All the action is visible unlike most other motor sport.

What are the worst things about speedway?

Guest riders, the old chesnut, but how do replace riders if say 3 or 4 are missing from the team?

What one thing would you do to improve speedway?

Bring the noise back, If you buy a house close to a track that's your problem, you should have checked first!

Good but more teams are needed.
