Dream Team : Glen Johnson
I'm a big Speedway fan and started watching Birmingham Brummies, after they dropped out of the sport I started to follow Cradley Heath............. and yes you guessed it they then dropped out, so now I'm watching Coventry Bees ........so lookout for them dropping out soon ;)

Anyhow here is my Fav Birmingham Brummies Team

Hans Nielsen
A rider of supreme quality, the most tidy rider I have ever seen. Was a great signing for Birmingham and the club had its best period in the top league while this man was there ..........no coincidence in my opinion.

Kelly Moran
A great entertainer, a joker and a pure gentleman. Wished he had stayed more on the right side of the management though, could have and should have been World Champion.

Phil Herne
My first hero at Birmingham, on his first stint here in the second division (as it was then) he was totally unbeatable at the Perry Barr stadium, was most upset when he left to go to Newport, but was so glad to see him return again years later.

Billy Sanders
A fine rider with a great style of his own, one of the finest never to be crowned champion. Sadly died while a Birmingham rider, he will never be forgotten by any of the Birmingham fans.

Alan Grahame
This spot was between Alan and his brother Andy.....and Alan won due to his more composed riding and his love for the club, always gave his all even when injured. Even after leaving to go to local rivals Cradley Heath Alan was still a hero here to the fans.

Carl Askew
An Aussie who was not the most talented rider but one of the most hard working riders I've ever seen, he never gave up, was a real entertainer

Steve Bastable
Now this fella was a talent was just a shame he never really put it on show all the time .............he was one of those riders who was brilliant one day and useless the next. Never did he have 2 meetings the same, but when he did give his all he was a winner every time

Other riders who deserve a mention are :
Arthur Browning, Finn Jensen, Andy Grahame, Ove Olsen, Ricky Day, Gary Middleton.

My those were the days...............................how I just wish Birmingham would bring speedway back to the Second City

"Great to see the Brummies getting a mention. As far as I know work is still going on to bring speedway back to Birmingham, but nothing concrete as yet. Keep 'em crossed. "
