Soundbites: 9th April 2005

Brady
Sullivan

"It's been good for the team in a way. I think we have assembled a decent side for this year and I believe we will surprise quite a few people. We have got the youngest team in the league, but we are starting to get to know each other, and we are now settling down nicely."
Ross Brady of Edinburgh - happy to be written off by the Speedway Star experts

"It was very important to win at home tonight, although we can't be disappointed with the way we have started our league campaign. We have had some difficult away meetings. We picked up a nice away win at Eastbourne and we were a touch unlucky not to win at Coventry as well. It hasn't all been bad. It is just we have had a lot of tough away meetings."
Ryan Sullivan on Poole's win over Arena on Wednesday

"Some riders are just not scoring points for us"
Glasgow manager Stewart Dickson sums up the problem!

"I wish I had never let Ryan go and I have no problem in admitting it was a mistake. I would certainly welcome Ryan back to Peterborough if the opportunity ever arose. Virtually every promoter in the Elite League warned me about Lee Richardson and his lack of commitment, but I still gave him the chance and look at the way he repaid us."
Peterborough boss Mick Horton laments the loss of Sullivan

"You can't fault the lad for effort and he has had some good races for us. But things just aren't going his way at the moment and he has struggled. We aren't expecting big scores from him, but we need him to chip in with a few points and I believe he is capable of that."
Ian Thomas on Steve Masters

"We have to raise our game away from home. We've already lost at Stoke and Glasgow, the two tracks we normally go well at, so we must collect every aggregate bonus point available. If we win every home meeting and win the bonus points then we might squeeze into the semi-finals via the back door."
Hull boss Dave Peet on the Premier Trophy

"Our home form has been first rate and the supporters have played a huge part in that success. I feel quite sure we can continue our winning ways on Saturday, though the trip to Newcastle will be a bit of a tester for us."
Stoke promoter Dave Tattum

"Coventry have a new track man this season, and it is going to take a few weeks to get the track like we all want it. He spoke to me last week, and I told him I felt it needed a bit more grip, and hopefully that will happen. We all want to win races out of the gate, but we need the opportunity to race as well when we don't make the start."
Scott Nicholls

"It is a big blow for him as he had an injury-riddled 2004 season. Most of the crashes were not his fault, and this sapped his confidence. He had recovered fully during the winter and had got his appetite for racing back. He has been unlucky with injuries over the past few seasons and hopefully will bounce back from this latest setback."
Alun Rossister on Olly Allen

"It was a good win on the night which was important, but unfortunately we could've done with the bonus point as well for the aggregate score. Workington seem to have top spot in our group wrapped up, so we have to aim for every bonus point if we are to progress to the next stage."
Hull's Craig Branney on the win over Glasgow

"Ashley had his first few practice laps here this morning, but the track was completely different for him tonight, but he battled through it and got some brilliant points for us."
Buster Chapman - impressed by Ashley Jones' debut for King's Lynn
