Soundbites: 30th April 2004

SullivanNicholls

"There's no hard feelings over Chris' decision to leave in the winter. He received a very good offer from Coventry and thought the move would help make him into a better rider. But things haven't really worked out for him and I'm already hearing rumours on the grapevine that he would love to come back to Peterborough. It's certainly a proposition that would interest me and I believe a return would be good for his career."
Peterborough's Mick Horton discussing 'Bomber' Harris

"I saw George at Sheffield earlier in the season and we shook hands and had a chat. I am looking forward to having him in the team. We have booked him because of his last performance at Berwick when he dropped only one point. He will be welcome."
Andre Compton on teaming up with old foe George Stancl

"If Workington have become strong at home it's because they have faced some shocking teams. I don't read anything into their win against Newport who are probably the worst team in the League by far. I'm told the Workington track was very wet and Wasps star Craig Watson wasn't prepared to get stuck in. Take Watson out of the Newport side and there's not much there."
Edinburgh boss John Campbell

"If you buy trousers that do not fit, you change them."
Colin Pratt's take on prospective team changes

"They're not breaking any rules although they really are far too strong at this level. Losing by only nine points is a great achievement and it gives us plenty to build on for the remainder of the season."
Weymouth promoter Brian White reflects on the Wildcats home loss to Mildenhall

"I'm hoping that we can put it together as a team and challenge for the Premier League crown. The guys are certainly flying at home with some big scores, but we must start picking-up performances and points on our travels if we are to figure in any title chase."
Carl Stonehewer

"Joel's certainly not arriving cheap, it's a substantial amount for us, but we obviously think he's worth it. We've got to thank our sponsors BHK who backed us so well at the start of the season. Their funding has really gone a long way to being able to persuade Len to part with Joel."
Eric Boocock after paying a five figure sum to sign Joel Parsons

"Antonio shut off and I nearly crashed into him because I was so close behind. We were lucky that we did not collide. Usually you shut off when you've passed the line. But Antonio did it five or seven metres before and I don't know why. I knew he was the tactical rider but there was nothing I could do not to go past him. I did what I could simply not to crash into him. I touched him as I went past so we were both lucky. Something like that doesn't happen often and one of us could have been badly injured. It was a bit close."
Bjarne Pedersen reflects on a narrow escape
