Jack Young's Bike - Restored

Neil Burston has spent many hours restoring one of Jack Young's bikes to prime condition. The AJW bike was presented to Young by Fred Jolly prior to the 1950 test match at Kilburn between Australia and England. Jolly was a purveyor of all things speedway and tuned Young's bikes throughout his career in Australia. The bike was subsequently sold to Bob Dawes and converted to a 350cc for use on local grasstracks. Neil has now restored the bike to its original 500cc specification and colour scheme.

Neil is also restoring a Rotrax JAP machine used by Englishman Gerry Hussey during the South Australia 1958-59 season.
