Dream Team: Kel Palmer

I'm 82, born and bred in Manchester - school at Rack House, M/c Central High (Whitworth St) and M/c Grammar. I've been an Aces fan since 1938, plus United and Lancashire CCC.

Morton Craven

Ivan Mauger
Whatever the circuit, you need a leader guaranteed to win most races home and away by virtue of a fast start, ability to judge and hold a line, and team ride when appropriate. Ever the gentleman, ever a credit to the sport .

Chris Morton
You look for as many 5-1s as you can, but when the start ain't right or conditions are dicey, you need someone who can come from behind, take the qualified risks and stay there when in front. As well as consistency, Speedway needs excitement-step up Mr "bloody hell" himself.

Peter Collins
The man for all seasons and all tracks(except Newport!) A brilliant rider of speedway bikes with the temperament, skill, courage and guts to tough it out with anyone anywhere.

Dent Oliver
A clever fearless fast rider who would quickly suss out if PC was in trouble and either take over or sort out the Michael Lee's etc!

Ole Olsen
The perfect "pinch hitter"capable of bossing any race butbut of also being a team guy able to help out or close a few gaps because of balanced riding skills.

Peter Craven
Born on a bike, incredible skills, never give in attitude, ride me anywhere anytime and I'll deliver.

Jason Crump at 21
A carbon copy of Pete Craven.
